2023 is a year of surprises and expectations.
The rainfall in spring 2023 is relatively small, and the rainfall in March, April and May is only 54.3mm. We combine drip irrigation facilities with timely drought-resistant irrigation to ensure the good growth of each variety;
The rainfall in June, July and August is relatively large, but it is lower than that in 2022, and exceeds 341.7mm. We reasonably implement the pest control scheme and pesticide application mode, and the incidence rate of diseases is low.
In September, the rainfall is 114mm. Fortunately, the rainfall is relatively concentrated, most of the time is sunny, windy, dry climate, large temperature difference between day and night, and cool at night, which greatly promotes the accumulation of flavor substances & sugar and the maintenance of acidity.

Chardonnay, the first harvest white variety, then the end of September to complete the harvest of Petit Manseng.
The earliest variety to be harvested this year is still Chardonnay, the star variety of the winery, starting on August 17 and ending on August 25, and the harvest is completed in two batches. This year, the maturity and health of Chardonnay are kept at a high-quality level, sugar and acid are suitable, and the yield is 6.8T/ha. 21.5 brix with acidity 6.5-7.0 g/l.
Petit Manseng, we have finished harvesting at the end of September, and the fruit clusters are loose and healthy. Sugar is 25Brix and acidity is 7.0 g/l.
Red grape varieties are well balanced in all aspects and have a very good maturity, such as Merlot, Petit Verdot, Marselan, Cabernet Gernischt and Cabernet Sauvignon. They are deep in color, full of fruity flavors, have good tannins, and all red grape varieties have a potential alcohol content of between 13.5 and 14.5.
In mid-September, we harvested Merlot and part of the Cabernet Franc for Rose. Merlot, early-maturing red grape variety, is harvested in mid-September. This year, the Merlot of all the plots performed perfectly, with beautiful colors, outstanding aroma and very good maturity. 24.9 Brix with an acidity of 5.2 g/l.
At the end of September, Petit Verdot, Marselan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Alibernet and other varieties entered the harvest period in succession.
Petit Verdot, during harvesting, the sugar degree is 23.5-25.5 brix, the acidity is 5.5g/l, Marselan, small berries, and the color is deep; During harvesting, the sugar degree reaches 24brix, and the acidity is 5.5g/l.
Cabernet Sauvignon, according to the maturity and health of different plots, is harvested by plots in batches, lasts from the end of September to the beginning of October, the sugar degree is about 23-25 brix, and the acidity is 5.0-6.0g/l.
In the middle of October, we harvested Cabernet Gernischt and Cabernet Franc.
As a local landmark variety, the Cabernet Gernischt keeps high quality, beautiful color, outstanding fragrance, high maturity and health, The sugar content was 23.5 brix and the acidity was 5.0 g/l.
Cabernet Franc is one of the last varieties we harvested. We delayed harvesting this year, about a week later than usual. Very good maturity was achieved this year, with a sugar level of 25 brix and an acidity of 5.0 g/l.
Although the overall rainfall in 2023 is still relatively large, reaching 529mm by the end of harvest, but the overall disease loss rate of each variety is relatively low, the health and maturity are good, all aspects are relatively balanced, and the potential is huge. In particular, our Chardonnay, Marselan, Petit Verdot, Merlot and part of the Cabernet Sauvignon are worth looking forward to.
In 2023, we harvested 393Tons of grapes, of which 91 tons were white grape and 302 tons are red variety.
